Our Contributions to Open-Source Security Projects

Oct 15, 2024 Fabian Hafner

In the spirit of open collaboration and giving back to the open-source community, we are proud to highlight some of our recent contributions to important security projects. We rely on these tools and are happy to support their growth with features and improvements!

Metasploit - Junos OS PHPRC Exploit

softScheck like all other security companies, depends on great projects like Metasploit. Because we benefit from it, we also believe in giving back. This is why we expanded an exploit we used by adding new features and improvements.

You can find our contribution here: https://github.com/rapid7/metasploit-framework/pull/19229

wag - Simple WireGuard 2FA

In our effort to modernize our VPN infrastructure and migrate from the good old OpenVPN to the much faster and lighter WireGuard, we adopted wag — a tool that adds two-factor authentication (2FA) to WireGuard. To support PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module) authentication, we contributed new features and enhancements to the project.
